Public Safety

We're proud to represent the men and women that protect and serve our communities every day. Law enforcement and public safety officers face unique challenges with their working conditions and contracts. To address these we've created the Public Safety Division for all public safety personnel that are represented by the JC 10 Locals.  Those officers who have joined the Teamsters have a voice in working conditions, pay, and benefits. You and your fellow officers can also have a say when you elect the Teamsters and will have the strength of 1.4 million members to support your decisions.

With the Teamsters' Public Safety Division, you will have:

• The political clout of the Teamsters on your side when city, county or state agencies set their fiscal budgets - which affect your wages and benefits;
• A network of veteran law enforcement officers and attorneys who are available to offer advice and guidance to you and your fellow officers;
• Professional service, aggressive grievance handling and skilled negotiators;
• A comprehensive program of expert legal assistance under the Northern New England Benefit Trust Law Enforcement On Duty Legal Defense Benefit for civil and criminal incidents, as well as preparation for grand jury hearings. This benefit is provided to all members who are part of the Northern New England Benefit Trust.
