Victory: Teamsters Local 633 Welcomes Court Security Officers

After almost two years of blistering anti-union attacks, the Court Security Officers of the State of New Hampshire have received formal notification that they are now members of Teamsters Local 633. 

Local 633 Secretary/Treasurer David W. Laughton stated, “This is a great victory for these officers and their family.  We welcome them into the Local 633 family.  This has been a long and difficult fight and our newest members never waffled.  We look forward to getting right into negotiations to get them a fair contract.” 

The one hundred fourteen new Teamsters approached Joint Council 10 Organizer Roger Travers in 2007 looking to form a Union.  Travers said, “A small group of Court Security Officers approached me because their wages had been stagnant for several years.  They felt that no one was listening to their concerns, and that they needed the muscle behind them that the Teamsters could provide. I take my hat off to them, they did a great job.” 

Requests for bargaining and contract proposals are currently under way.  Teamsters Local 633 Business Agent Jeff Padellaro will Chair the negotiations for the Union.   

Teamsters Local 633 represents four thousand members throughout New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island.
